The Diversity Awareness Partnership

Make a Difference by Accepting Everyone Elses

The Diversity Awareness Partnership (DAP) is a collaboration of St. Louis organizations whose efforts are designed to promote the value of difference in the St. Louis region by providing useful, appropriate infomration as well as specific ways individuals can get involved. Themed Make a Difference By Accepting Everyone Else's, the DAP is a replicable model for communities across the nation in advancing public appreciation of diversity and developing strategies for eliminating obstacles that can divide communities.

The DAP uses the following strategies to meet its goals:

       Community Resources: a website ( www.makeadifferencestlouis.org), online diversity resource guide (see back of page) and information line (1-866-ONE-CITY);

       Awareness Effort: generate awareness of the value of difference by utilizing all the vehicles of the partner organizations;

       Youth Program: an anti-bias program involving schools from throught the St. Louis region in an effort to address the increasing diversity in today's schools and encourage respect and acceptance among one another; and

       Collaboration: facilitate the development of innovative, collaborative projects, events and programs between partner organizations by serving as a forum for the exchange of research, ideas and best practices.

The St. Louis Rams Foundation and St. Louis 2004 have taken the lead in developing the Diversity Awareness Partnership. Hosted by Webster University, the Partnership has strong participation from the following organizations:
